Every venture started as a fix for a problem nobody else was solving — an internet tower, a water system, a restaurant that couldn't keep up with demand. NASSAJ is where that instinct becomes an Iraqi manufacturing brand.
Before NASSAJ
Milad's path started in a rural area with no reliable internet provider nearby — so he built a tower and ran the connection himself. Noticing there was no safe drinking water in the area, he went on to design its first desalination system, teaching himself networking, machine programming, and production-line control with no formal background in any of it.
The displacement of 2013 wiped out both ventures overnight. Milad rebuilt from Baghdad, starting as a factory floor worker and working up to assistant engineer, before moving through trading, restaurant management, and operations — experience he later folded directly into NASSAJ.
The record
Self-taught networking and basic programming to bring a connection to an underserved area.
Designed and built the region's first system for safe drinking water; learned to program industrial machines and production lines.
Worked directly with physicians and learned to navigate recurring supply chain problems.
Ran inventory and stock management, and learned to read supply and demand.
Gained hands-on experience across manufacturing, quality tiers, importing, and logistics.
Owned quality, operations, and customer experience for the full team, end to end.
Worked across five delivery companies to learn the real size of the market, the recurring problems in last-mile delivery, how to earn a genuinely satisfied customer, and how brands build marketing around it.
Inside the restaurant, Milad built an automated system that let a single person manage the full delivery operation, then redesigned the kitchen workflow to cut waste and speed up service.
The result: daily delivery volume grew fiftyfold, with no cancelled orders and no drop in customer experience.

What shaped NASSAJ
The 2013 displacement erased two ventures overnight, and later ventures were slowed by thin capital. Building brands since has taught Milad to define founder roles and set exit terms before day one — lessons that now shape how NASSAJ is structured from the start.
NASSAJ today
NASSAJ is building the manufacturing relationships and quality control that founders in Iraq usually can't find locally.
Producing domestically removes the markup that comes with importing finished goods.
NASSAJ's first products are built to close that gap directly.
Status: prototype complete. Currently in production, photography, go-to-market planning, and promotional video ahead of first sale.
What's next
The plan beyond launch is a domestic textile factory, a product line that grows well past socks, and real career paths for Iraqi youth across manufacturing, design, marketing, and operations.
